Private Cooking Lessons

ingredients arranged for cooking lessons

Have you always wanted to learn how to cook but didn’t know where to start? Are you looking at beefing up the skills you already have? Are you looking for a fun activity for a party? Our private cooking lessons are perfect for you. Both group and individual lessons are available. Classes are done in a client’s home or venue. They can be hands-on, demonstrations, or a combination of both.

How long are private cooking lessons?

We will typically spend about 3 hours during a lesson. It’s hard to get everything done with less! We need enough time for set-up, instruction, preparation and cooking, clean-up, and of course, fun. Depending on what the topic is for the lesson, it may need more than 3 hours. I’ll let you know if I expect the lesson to last longer.

What kind of things do you teach?

Just about anything you can think of. Lesson topics are usually picked by the client. Curious on how to cook fish but don’t know where to start? Want to learn something more specific like how to make an amazing German Chocolate Cake? Just let me know what you want to learn about and I’ll be happy to teach you how.

Want to learn more about Baby-Led Weaning than how to prepare food for your baby? Book an infant feeding lesson. Want to learn more about nutrition and what kind of foods to eat? Schedule a Nutritional Counseling session.

Do you only teach adults?

No way! Kids can cook too! How awesome will it be to have help in the kitchen? I modify recipes and instruction as needed so that everyone can learn to cook. Hey, lessons are also a great activity for kids’ birthday parties!

What do I need to have?

You need to have a space available for the lesson, a normal kitchen works for most. Large groups may need extra space. You are also responsible for basic equipment like cutting boards and knives. I will provide you with a list of necessary equipment.

What do you provide?

I will provide copies of recipes and any special equipment that may be needed. Special equipment may be things like piping bags and tips, molds, scoops, and such.

What about the food?

I can either purchase the groceries and include them in the service cost. Or, if you prefer, I will send you a shopping list. Any food purchased is your property and I will leave it with you. You paid for it, after all.
